Hong Kong 2010 Day 4
Take green minibus 1A outside Choi Hung MTR station to Sai Kung
Sai Kung was a slow-paced and relaxed seaside town on a sunny Wednesday morning. As Slug and I were browsing the shops selling fishing equipment, we noticed a suspicious old lady spying on us. As soon as we exited the shop, she approached us and offered to take us out to sea to fish for the whole afternoon for about HKD350. We went along with her.
Drying out egg yolks under the sun

Fisherman at sea
Coastal erosion
Spent the next few hours on the gently-rocking boat napping while Slug fished.Fishing with hand reel
Some hilly islets off Sai Kung
Some of the small fishes Slug caught
Slug was increasingly bored because he wanted to land some really large fishes and was resenting the old lady for not bringing us further out to sea where the large catch was. I was rather impressed with the old lady's very simple diet - she cooked porridge on board and boiled cabbage in hot water - and that was her lunch. The old lady fishing as well
I decided to try my hand at fishing too.More fishes
Spotted groupers and other fishes
They were too small to be eaten, so we set them all free.On our way back to Sai Kung
Sai Kung pier on a quiet weekday evening
Slug complained about how unexciting this fishing trip was, but I was just contented enough to spend a lazy afternoon like that.
