We realised we over-ordered and we were struggling to finish the last few wings. Ended the night sipping some refreshing root beer float and chatting at an atmospheric pub by the beach.
Me and the birthday babe!

Were later joined by more friends, with more booze, more laughter, more singing, more games, and more candid shots. When it was 12, we (and some other busybody patrons) serenaded Dappy with a Happy Birthday song over a small slice of cheesecake. It was a heartwarming scene as Peipei and I were practically shouting out the song with joy and gusto.

Acting adorable
Acting surprised (but Ben looked like he was stabbed in the arse)
Changed to a better and comfortable couch at an alcove
The pub closed at a disappointingly early 4am, after which we hopped over to St James for more drinking.
What a lovely night.

Went on to have dinner of beer-battered fish and chips at Bugis. I must say that we were really spoilt for choice at the basement of Bugis Junction, with its dizzying array of food outlets.

As the holidays drew to an impending end, the working blues were starting to set in. *groan*
Every moment spent with Slug, from buying groceries to cooking, from watching TV together to going out, from washing clothes to cleaning the hamster cage, from arguing to making up, is making me look forward to matrimonial bliss and a domestic life with him.
Enjoying some traditional ice-cream before making our way to the Salvation Army
I must say, the recession is forcing us to stop frequenting pricey and lavish restaurants like PRP and Yum Cha for now. At $16 per head, I could wolf down as much as grilled chicken, chilli lala, fried buns, fried wanton and chicken wings here. One cause for joy for today was that there was fresh flower crab on the menu, instead of the usual suspiciously-foul mud crabs that reeked of urine.
Although it rained halfway and we had to shift everything to a tentage, it did not spoil our moods savouring the grilled chicken and especially the flower crab.
Spent the night at a prawn farm somewhere in Jurong with Slug and his friends, watching them indulge in the atrocities in toying and hooking these poor crustaceans. Under my firm hand, Slug was forbidden to join in the prawning, and you could see from his eyes the burning desire to take up the rod. I seriously could not take the sight of the patrons grilling the prawns live at the barbeque pits nearby.

Nevertheless, it was a lovely night boozing and finally being able to relax.
Awoke on Sunday noon to a rude shock: water supply was cut due to a major water pipe burst. Lucky Henglip and Haoling had already washed up before this happened, while I had to resort to walking all the way to the dirty and sandy public toilet at Pasir Ris Park to bathe. Henglip wanted to fry some crepes for breakfast, but could not without water. The water supply was forecasted to resume only on Monday, and everyone was frustrated with the poor management of this issue and the waiting for some water rations to be given to us. Even the water supply to the public toilets in the chalet compound was cut.
Kar Cheng, Henglip, Haoling and I played mahjong to pass time, with the birthday girl sweeping the winnings. Birthday luck, it must be. The buffet dinner started at about 6pm, and as usual, it would be a feast because I really love the fried prawns. No yam paste, though. After that, a Gelare ice-cream cake was brought out and the usuals went on: Happy Birthday chorus, cake-cutting, photos-taking and two curious Brandon and Gordon staring intensely at the cake and imagining it was their birthday.

We spent the remainder of the night playing dai dee, and laughing at Ah Sir who kept being stuck with the 'Shit' title. To add on to her misery, all of us coerced her to express her pride at her undesirable title and be recorded on camera. Despite the stunted image flow, her "I'm Shit" and our cackling laughter were unmistakeable.

We ended the night early and left for home cruising and enjoying the night breeze at the back of 4th Uncle's pickup truck.
After dinner, we lazed around at Ah Ma's house where Ah Sir and I kept disturbing an obese Meow Meow who wanted to take a nap on top of the sofa's backing, of all places. So we tried to prod and tickle it, so that it would lose its balance and fall.
Although it looked wider than the sofa's backing, surprisingly, it managed to remain steady. Of course, it did not look too happy, occasionally flashing its blunt claws. Meow Meow also has a tendency to catch unsuspecting hands by surprise - touch it too much and it will leave unsightly puncture marks and smelly drool. It has been known to bite innocent neighbours for no apparent reason.
Ah Ma is left with this psychotic cat. Xiao Hei will be dearly missed.
