Went to Marina South for a steamboat dinner with Ah Sir, Wee, Kar Cheng, his Thai girlfriend named Fern and two of his friends. When we arrived at the steamboat restaurant, the auntie waitress was fawning over Kar Cheng, whom I think really enjoyed the attention. We were given two tables in a poorly-ventilated area.
I got the chance to eat my favourite satay chicken and black pepper chicken, which Wee cooked for me. You should see her earnestness when she really gets into the barbecuing, especially her prawns. I should say the best items there were the humble fried butter bun and the fried wonton. To our amazement, Fern ate an assortment of food ranging from cockles to cauliflower, and two sticks of Potong ice-cream (!).
We had our pet peeves, though. Ah Sir was whining about her jade arms getting scalded by the oil sputtering from the steamboat. Wee was looking for some non-existent honey wings. Kar Cheng tried to impress us by cooking some garlic chicken omelette with onions, but apparently, he wasn't really impressed with what he had concocted. I was disgusted when my plastic chopsticks started to melt while cooking, and felt so stupid when I realised wooden chopsticks were provided.

After the highly toxic meal of oil, plastics and carcinogens, Ah Sir, Wee and I went to East Coast to chill out. Despite his friends' tempting invitation to some 'dirty bar', poor Kar Cheng had to be by his gf's side instead. At Coffee Bean, we had coffee and a great chat near the sea.

the trip was fun! alot of food to eat and nope no giant coz we spent all our time at city square and on food instead. wahahahaha
