Day Out with Slug

Visited Chong Pang Steamboat Restaurant at Turf City, one of our favourite haunts to have a steamboat dinner, after browsing through the thrift store at the Salvation Army.

Enjoying some traditional ice-cream before making our way to the Salvation Army

I must say, the recession is forcing us to stop frequenting pricey and lavish restaurants like PRP and Yum Cha for now. At $16 per head, I could wolf down as much as grilled chicken, chilli lala, fried buns, fried wanton and chicken wings here. One cause for joy for today was that there was fresh flower crab on the menu, instead of the usual suspiciously-foul mud crabs that reeked of urine.

Although it rained halfway and we had to shift everything to a tentage, it did not spoil our moods savouring the grilled chicken and especially the flower crab.
